Taxes
Sales taxes – comparable to our value-added tax – are levied on almost all goods and services in the USA. The price tag usually does not include the tax. No tax is charged on basic foodstuffs. The amount of the sales tax varies from region to region. In Florida it is usually 7%. In hotels or for your vacation home or apartment, you will have to pay between 4.5% and 5% tourist tax, which varies from county to county.
