Nice large room with kitchen and balcony overlooking the lagoon in which you can see dolphins and manatees. The beach and also the whole Resort is clean and very well maintained. We prefer a Club Suite in building 6 (upper floor). The daily room service is tiptop and the staff is very friendly.

We have been to this resort over 10 times now since 1990 and are very disappointed, so we will be renting a vacation home through private contacts starting next year. The prices have gone up and the service has declined a lot. Room service was sporadic and on several days, there were no beach towels. The resort has changed a lot, but not in a positive way.
You can watch the chefs at work here, separated only by the bar. Unfortunately, it's often very busy, so it's easier to get a table after 8pm.
Friendly staff. Sea food, as well as steaks, pasta and poultry of appealing quality. The big hit here: "Bang Bang Shrimp" as a starter - our favorite.
Many thanks for our new website. The cooperation was expeditious and absolutely professional. We can only recommend rtWebdesign.
This place really deserved a nicer location, but it is easy to get to as it is very close to I 75, Home Depot and Wal Mart. Very good selection with good quality and pleasant atmosphere. There was a "tester menu" where we could try smaller dishes.
... have tried the Stone Crabs, are really very good. Definitely also try the iceberg salad.
Romantic, fine dining restaurant with fantastic views of Little Sarasota Bay. If the weather is nice, you can sit on the small terrace right on the water. ( be sure to use mosquito spray in summer! - unfortunately we did not ) Excellent food in upscale price range. Wonderful breakfast buffet on Sunday mornings, otherwise not open for lunch. Table reservations are recommended.
… haben die Stone Crabs probiert, sind wirklich sehr gut.
... with "beer garden" and fishing camp on the beautiful Myakka River. You can eat here, have a drink and enjoy the nature, maybe watch an alligator. Very often live music, on weekends also during the day. On Sunday afternoons, live music and bbq bring together the local population, including many motorcycle rider. To experience the great nature up close, simply rent a canoe or a small motorboat.
Very nice place with neat cuisine and atmosphere.
Very fine, excellent service and quality, especially recommended for lunch.
Unfortunately, we did not make a reservation and had to wait a long time. We were informed via a pager when a table became available. Fine seafood and burgers. This is the absolute Florida Feeling. A great dinner, the sound of the sea and a fantastic sunset, that's what makes the location.
... with a sumptuous breakfast - fresh and creative. This passion for distinctive flavors makes Broken Egg Cafe so unique.
Used to be the location of Broken Egg, we like it even better than Broken Egg. A wonderful place for breakfast and lunch.
... restaurant with nice terrace and view of Little Sarasota Bay and a beautiful mangrove island with many pelicans and herons. Specialty is seafood, but there are also salads and meat dishes.
Old Florida atmosphere in the style of an English pub. Nice location and good British beer with rustic fish dishes.
Walked up to the place, no one eating and no staff. I would have liked to eat something, so I can't give a rating on the food. However, the location and the view of the bay are excellent.
Seafood is the specialty of The Crow's Nest. We recommend the Lobster Pot - with mussels, red potatoes and fresh corn.
which is produced in small batches and handmade. Here counts primarily the quality and taste. Each step of the distillation and distillation is monitored in copper pots. This allows to produce the delicious rum, which goes back to the time before mass production determined the taste of rum as a minor matter. At Siesta Key Rum, the taste comes first.
If you want to learn and see more about the nature in Sarasota Bay, we can recommend you a trip with the "Explorer". During the trip with this "mote-ship" a lot will be explained and shown to you. Among other things, a net that is pulled along the seabed for a while and then lifted up will show you which smaller and somewhat larger animals live in Sarasota Bay. Of course, after the explanation and after you have had a chance to look at them closely, all the animals will be released back into the wild. Mote Marine has been very successful in breeding endangered sturgeon (sturgeon) for several years. The fish farm is located on Fruitville Road east of I 75, but is not open to the public. "Mote Marine Sturgeon" (Madfish Grill) and "Mote Marine Caviar" (Libbys) are now served at some Sarasota establishments. Both caviar and the sturgeon meat are absolutely delicious. The caviar is only available at Mote from time to time. Terri Deppe terrid@mote.org organizes "Caviar & Sturgeon (Sturgeon) Sale" about every 2 months (more in the winter months) via e-mail. You can then order from her and pick up at Mote Marine Aquarium on a specific day in the afternoon. So really only suitable if you live in the Sarasota area or are here for a long time. You can also order Mote Marine caviar on the internet at. https://caviarstar.com, but a lot more expensive than directly from Mote.
in wonderful location right on the Intracoastal, very close to Historic Spanish Point and is somewhat hidden on a side street. Rustic Florida atmosphere - the finger foods were delicious.
After years of driving past this park, inconspicuous from the road (always with the thought in the back of our minds: we should check it out sometime), I finally took a trip to Spanish Point with two dear guests from Germany. This walk in the footsteps of the past really thrilled us. If you love nature and are interested in Florida's history, I can only recommend a visit to Spanish Point - we found it to be a "quiet oasis with everyday life fading away". You can explore the park independently or join one of the guided tours offered. The building where you begin your visit is the old Osprey schoolhouse. It was one of five Sarasota County schools built between 1926 and 1928 to accommodate the population increase during the real estate boom of the twenties. Renowned architect M. Leo Elliott designed this school in a simple, classic Spanish Colonial style. The building is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Today it houses the visitor center. Your walk into the past begins here with the purchase of tickets, a short visit to the museum and a film screening. You can also get a German brochure here, which served me as a model for the following description. To the actual park entrance you drive a few more minutes with your car.
FYI: The new Shore location on Longboat Key should be opening soon. Moore's Stone Crab Restaurant, which closed in 2015, will soon take over.
... where everyone knows your name. Chef and owner Alan Laskowski offers a gourmet twist on everyday favorites. Chef Alan won the local Iron Chef, People's Choice Award, Best Meatiest Burger and Best of Philadelphia three years in a row (2013, 2014 & 2015). Located just blocks from the beautiful Gulf of Mexico, it is attached to the Island Sun Inn Hotel. Breakfast and lunch 6 days with breakfast all day, giving new meaning to the word creative. From meat lovers to vegetarians to gluten free, there is something for everyone!
you can also sit outside nicely. In the summer there is a wonderful 3-course menu for $19.95
We were able to watch our pizza being baked in the stone oven. The pizza bread and tomato sauce are homemade. This casual cafe offers great food made fresh daily. The salads, sandwiches and wraps are popular, as is the olive tapenade. Sit outside and enjoy Café Epicure's happy hour while watching visitors stroll down Palm Avenue.
... where you can also eat rustic. Try the smoked fish dip "smoked Mullet Dip" - a regional delicacy. If you see fish jumping in a canal or in the bay, these are mullets, vegetarian fish, which can therefore only be caught with a net.
Our favorite is Publix, with a very large selection, good deli and fish departments, and its own bakery. Recently also a good selection of food from organic farming or organic animal husbandry (Green Wise products is a Publix-owned product line - e.g. excellent fresh eggs). Plastic bags are also going out of style. Many people use reusable shopping bags, which are now offered in almost all stores. By the way, in Sarasota County you are not allowed to buy alcohol (which includes beer, of course) until after 12 noon on Sundays. This law is also strictly enforced. You can get beer, wine and champagne in the supermarkets. For higher-proof alcohol you have to go to a liquor store. Minimum age to buy alcohol or drink in public is 21.
Formerly run as Rossiter's by Rick Rossiter since 1990. Annually we visited this store as a regular customer and talked to the locals and met for a BBQ. We have not yet visited the new store, but expect Adrenaline Harley-Davidson to be a worthy successor.
Please donate to help us keep the Museum open. May 16th we were given notice by the landlord, New College of Florida to vacate by June 30th. We are a non-profit and must find a new location and move more than 150 cars and 3,000 other historic pieces to a new location.
