Many people don’t realize that the Sarasota Farmers Market is a non-profit organization supported not only by our vendors, but also by our community. We have many unseen expenses to maintain the quality of the market we have built over the years. Some of them are police and border patrol officers to provide security ($18,000 per year), portable toilets ($10,000 per year) and to support some of our programs our live music.
Please support the Sarasota Farmers Market by participating in our annual Taste of the Market – Sunday Night Fever fundraiser. We feature music, delicious food from your favorite market vendors (including a 50-foot salad bar!), raffles, a cash bar (with a Lagunitas-sponsored Craft Beer Garden), a Disco Dance-Off and more fun all night long!
Your support helps us make the Sarasota Farmers Market one of the largest and healthiest in the country, with annual attendance of more than 500,000, and generate $56 million annually for the downtown core. We are proud to bring local produce, products and healthy living to our community every Saturday morning, rain or shine, 52 weeks a year.
