Brohard Park include several beach access points that are designated and used for various needs and activities. Below is a list of each location and their amenities.
Venice Fishing Pier on South Harbor Drive:
If you fish, there is a 740 foot public fishing pier with restrooms, a snack bar and bait store with a full service restaurant at the base of the pier. Nearby there is a known wetland for great bird watching. There are no lifeguards at this stretch of beach.
Service Club Park at South Harbor Drive:
This stretch of beach is known for its leggy shark teeth. The raised boardwalk with shaded pavilions cross the dunes to a quiet sandy beach with volleyball courts, picnic tables, grills, children’s playground, restrooms and parking. A place to relax, with a pier for fishing and a nearby restaurant. Dogs are allowed here, but must be kept on a leash.
Chauncy Howard Park on the 800 block of Esplanade North:
Across the street from Venice Airport, you can bask in the sun and watch the occasional airplane. A ramp, leads handicapped accessible to the quiet beach. There are no lifeguards, but plenty of free parking and restrooms.
Brohard PAW PARK on Harbor Drive S:
Across from Venic Airport, this dog-friendly section is located. In addition, there are dog drinking fountains here as well. One of the most dog friendly beaches in the area. A paved path leads directly to the beach. However, in the summer months you should carry your four-legged friends to the water, as the sand is relatively hot. The masters and mistresses are also taken care of, there are plenty of drinking fountains, picnic tables and restrooms. Parking is very limited, however, although they can park off-street.
South Brohard Beach at Harbor Drive:
A great beach to relax on. There is plenty of free parking, picnic tables, showers and restrooms. Normally, this section gets very little traffic, so there is plenty of free parking.
